10 Romcom Sol Manga You Should Read

10 Romcom Sol Manga You Should Read

I haven’t started any new anime or manga recently other than H2, and it’s been a hot sec since my last post, so I figured I’d just do something like recommend some manga.

When it comes to manga, 90% of what I read is romcom sol manga because they’re just so good.  Personally I think romcom sol fits much better in manga than in anime because a lot of people complain about the slowness of romcom sol anime, but manga you can read at your own pace.  Especially when it comes to slice of life, because they’re based on little life things which fits into a 12-20 page chapter but not in a 20 minute episode, so multiple scenes and events need to be put into the one episode making it seem longer.

Also I’m of course only going to be recommending manga I’ve personally read, so there’s going to be plenty of amazing manga that’s not on the list because I just haven’t read it.  Or it could be because I’m only doing 10, I can do more in the future maybe.  Also the order doesn’t necessary equate to one being better than the other, the number doesn’t matter.

1. Tonikaku Kawaii
Well this one is pretty obvious considering it’s my favorite manga and anime, but it really is an amazing manga.  Tonikawa is an amazing Iyashikei that skips all the bs leading up to the relationship and lets us see the lives of a newly wed couple.  You have to be careful about getting diabetes with this manga because of how sweet it is.  One of the most wholesome manga out there.  Even going past the romance, midway through the manga, Hata-sensei decided to get a little more serious about the story aspect and gave us an incredible story revolving around Tsukasa’s life leading up to meeting Nasa.  I really can’t recommend this manga enough, every thing about it is just so amazing.

2. We’re New at This
This is another manga about the lives of a married couple, a very cute one.  If you’ve ever seen Ao-chan can’t study, this is the same mangaka btw.  We’re new at this main focuses on a newly wed couple trying to find the right moment to have seggs for the first time.  It sounds a little degen and the art can be a little ecchi, but the main couple’s relationship is still so pure and cute.  Even after they accomplish that main goal, the manga still continues in an episodic style showing us random events in their life.  Very cute.

3. My Lovey-Dovey Wife is a Stone Cold Killer
To continue with the married life trend, this is another manga about a married couple and their daily lives.  Though this one has the twist that the wife is an assassin, so they just live like a normal married couple with the added fact that the wife kills for a living.  Sounds like it could be badass, though this is much more cute and wholesome.  It’s a wonderful episodic comedy too of course.  Also I really like the art style for this one.

4. It Takes Two Tomorrow, Too
This is a pretty simple and straight forward romcom sol manga.  It’s about a couple that not quite married but might as well be who recently started living together.  This is just your wholesome iyashikei manga where the chapters just follow random daily activities with the couple.  It’s a nice cute and uneventful manga that’s nice to read when you want to relax.

5. How to Grill Our Love
Now that I think about it, manga has a lot more romcom sols with married couples than anime does.  Yet another manga about a newly wed couple.  This one is about 2 people that met on a dating app and ended up getting married.  The husband is really into grilling food, so that’s why the title is that.  This manga is also kind of a cooking manga too because a lot of the chapters revolve around cooking and grilling food, though the regular non-grilling part of the story is still very cute and wholesome too.

6. Kubo Won’t Let Me Be Invisible
This manga is a little more well known after the anime aired, but I’ll still include it on the list if you haven’t decided to read the manga or have been putting it off.  Kubo-san is about a guy who has such a small presence that people tend to not realize he’s there, but Kubo is able to see him every time.  This manga is kinda similar to Takagi-san and Nagatoro-san because Kubo like teasing Shiraishi, the invisible guy.   Also this is a high school romance if that matters at all.  But yeah, this is an extremely wholesome manga that doesn’t just show a wholesome romance, but also shows Shiraishi making friends and having fun with other people for the first time, very wholesome.

7. Love and Drowse
This one just says romance and sol on anilist, not comedy, but it still is kind of a romcom, plus MAL has it as comedy too.  But anyway, I will warn that this manga is technically incest because the main couple is cousins, buuuut, it’s still pretty cute.  The main appeal of this manga though is that the main girl is a sleep master.  This manga provides you with tons of tips and tricks about sleeping well and stuff.  For example it talks about how you can get an effective power nap by drinking coffee before you go to sleep then napping for like 20 minutes and you’re supposed to wake up energized.  I haven’t tried any of this stuff myself, but stuff online says it should work, so you can probably trust it.  The romance isn’t the main thing in this manga, but there’s still some cute romance.

8. Girlfriend Who Absolutely Doesn’t Want to Take a Bath VS Boyfriend Who Absolutely Wants Her to Take a Bath
This is a manga with a funny title because of how long it is, that should be enough reason to read it lmao.  But title aside, this is an extremely cute and wholesome manga about a couple where the girlfriend who doesn’t want to take a bath and a boyfriend who wants her to take a bath, like said in the title.  The title is literally just the synopsis lmao.  This manga is primarily the type where each chapter the girlfriend doesn’t want to take a bath, and the boyfriend finds different ways to get her in.  Though later in the manga, the author went from releasing chapters here and there to releasing a bunch of chapters at once to end the series, and those later chapters are more story oriented and I personally think the ending was pretty decent.  Another very cute casual manga.

9. Wake up please Ms. Kusakabe
This is another manga that revolves around sleeping, though this time rather than giving sleeping tips, this one is about a girlfriend who doesn’t want to get out of bed and the boyfriend tries to get her outside.  This is also somewhat similar to the bath one as in each chapter (there’s only 12 chapters total) the girlfriend doesn’t want to get out of bed, and the boyfriend finds ways to get her up.  It’s a very cute manga and some of the ways the boyfriend gets her out of bed is just so wholesome and cute.  A simple but cute manga.

10. Lend Me 100 Yen So I Can Play a Game!
This last manga is a romcom about 2 coworkers that regularly go to a café that has these special tables that you can play retro games on.  It’s a cute romance, but it also shows a lot about the author’s love and knowledge for retro games.  It’s another pretty simple manga at only 29 chapters, but I did learn more about retro games and had to go play some pac man after reading it.  Plus the romance is pretty cute and wholesome as the girl shows her love for retro games while the guy gets happy seeing her play and stuff.  Very cute.

Well, that’s 10 romcom sol manga that I recommend reading.  I might do some more similar stuff to this in the future because I have a lot of anime and manga to recommend.  Also because the Hinagiku frame thing is taking a lot longer than I thought it would be.  I really underestimated how many frames there are in an episode, it’s crazy.  Well, for now there’s this and you can read these manga while waiting for the next post.  Bye
