Thoughts on First 3 Alya-san Episodes

Time for more Alya-san pachi pachi pachi pachi (insert Nijika GIF).  The 3rd episode came out today and I just watched it, so time for my thoughts about the first 3 episodes.  I won’t be going over the first episode though since I already did that here.

SPOILERS FOR EPS 1-3

Episode 2
I’m just going to go through the episodes chronologically as usual, so to start off with, Souo is actually Kuze’s sister.  I was actually thinking about how Kuze and Souo’s hair looks so similar with the same colors and stuff.  I wasn’t sure if this was just a coincidence or if they were actually related, or what, but yup siblings.  Kinda weird that their surnames are different, but if I had to guess, it has something to do with the fact that their parents divorced and that Souo and Kuze went with different parents as shown in episode 3.

So it would seem that Souo is also a heavy bro-con and incest enjoyer.  Dare I say that it’s actually kinda cute though.  It’s funny and cute how she seems so prim and proper at school, but then when we see her at home with Kuze, she lets her bro-con personality loose.  Seeing her say “wincest” and “it’s only good when they’re blood related” got me laughing.  Idk why, but it’s funny seeing an anime girl talk like a degen weeb.  I like this side of Souo, it’s funny and cute.

The moment I saw them going shopping, I could already predict that Alya would end up seeing the 2 of them together, but it was still good nonetheless.  Also I want to point out that Souo saying “my brother” in english was really funny for some reason.  Seeing Alya spy on them was cute, and like episode one, her jealous with a mix of curiosity this time was cute.  Souo then just bluntly going up to her and saying hi was also funny.  Idk if this was an intentional or not, but it seemed like a one piece reference when Alya ducked back behind the wall after being caught, because she had her upper half behind the wall and her lower half exposed, just like Chopper.

This episode was just filled with so much cuteness.  Alya eating the spicy ramen and not being able to handle it was super cute too.  Now, fan service.  This episode had beautiful fan service too with the changing room.  It was indeed quite nice.  Though imo, the cuteness was the bigger thing with that scene, but seeing Alya get embarrassed about Kuze’s compliments was so flipping cute.

Speaking of cute, I was caught off guard by the ED for this episode.  I was not expecting to hear Kawaikute gomen and started going crazy when I heard it start playing.  Man, I love this song so much.  I’ve listened to the original Hayami Saori version a million times as well all the hololive covers and more.  It’s such a good song, and having a song about being cute in an episode that was filled with cuteness is just so perfect.

Episode 3
I actually don’t have as much to say about this episode, but it was good.  We see some of Alya’s backstory and how she met Kuze.  Honestly, seeing the kid procrastinate on the group project is relatable as I also procrastinate, but at the same time, I relate more to Alya in not giving the minimum satisfactory responses and actually putting some effort into it since that’ll get you better grades.  Though, I still procrastinate, so my effort comes in at 1am.  It was interesting to see a full scene in just Russian like that.  My ears aren’t used to hearing longer Russian conversations like they are to English and Japanese.  Also child Alya is adorable.

The middle school backstory showing Alya and Kuze meeting for the first time (supposedly) was pretty nice.  Honestly don’t have much to say about it other than it’s nice.  One thing I will point out though is that Doga Kobo did a really nice job with the art, especially Alya’s eyes.  Also the scene where Kuze grabbed Alya’s hand to go dance was so fricking cute.  That part was easily the highlight and wholesomeness overload.

Alya’s sister is nice.  Not really my type, but she has a cute personality.  Though a question was risen with what happened between her and/or Alya when they were younger that led to Masha staring at him in the student council room. I already mentioned the parents divorcing and stuff earlier, so I don’t really have anything else to say.  The ED for ep 3 was alright, not as good as Kawaikute gomen, but still decent.

Thanks for reading, may or may not comment on the rest of the Alya episodes (prob will), but depends on how much I have to say about them.  Bye
